Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Eyes here represents spiritually "understanding and faith."
Hebrews 12:2-3
2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Jesus represents The Word of God
John 1:1-4
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. 2. The same was in the beginning with God. 3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
When we are going through life's hardships and trials the bible encourages us to focus on Jesus (The Word). This will keep us in perfect peace in the midst of chaos.
We have to realize that our natural eyes and mind work together. What we see our mind processes and we begin to think on these things whether good or bad.
Our eyes can deceive us that's why the bible encourages us to see things with spiritual eyes of understanding which produces faith.
Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
This is why we are encouraged to walk by Faith (spiritual eyes of understanding) and not by sight (for what we naturally see is not always what it is).
God's Word is life and Jesus came that we might have life more abundantly. If we stay focused on the Word, we will have light.
Psalm 119: 105 says Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Our Lord and Savior went through hardships, persecutions and trials.
Jesus could have easily got distracted by all this but,
kept His focus on what his Father had taught Him and what task the Father had given for Him to carry out.
In Him doing so victory over death and the grave was won and He now sits on the right hand of the Father seated in majesty. Praise God!
Be encouraged in the Lord and don't let what's going on around you disturb your peace in God. Keep your Eyes on Jesus (The Word)
