BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU SAY AND DO!

Updated: Jan 11

BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU SAY AND DO! Ephesians 4:25-30, 5:5 CEV

God has given us rules for our new life in Him and it is essential to follow His commands. When we come into this new life there is an expected change that must take place. We can no longer live in the old way. As we look into these rules lets pray for our obedience to them.

We are part of the same body. Stop lying and start telling each other the truth. Ephesians 4:25

In the body of Christ why do we have to put on or put up a fake wall between each other or portray that everything is all fine and dandy. We are only hurting ourselves when we lie to one another. We are not acting like our Father when we do such things. God is not the author of confusion but Satan is the father of lies. We are not operating in the Spirit of the Lord when we set out to deceive others. We have to be careful of what we say or do.

Don't get so angry that you sin. Don't go to bed angry and don't give the devil a chance. Ephesians 4:26-27

God said that vengeance is His. We as children of God have to learn that when people do or say things that makes us upset or hurt our feelings that we mustn't lash out, we must take whatever is ailing us to God in prayer, prayer is a vital tool that God has given us to use. When you pray about the situation God can give you peace. He says that we must not go to sleep with anger in our hearts. Learn to forgive because tomorrow is not promised to us. We must not give the devil any place in our lives.

If you are a thief, quit stealing. Be honest and work hard, so you will have something to give to people in need. Ephesians 4:28

As we know that one of the 10 commandments tells us not to steal or covet someone else’s possessions. On a spiritual level this can refer to trying to operate in a gift that God has not assigned to you.

Don't feed off of someone else’s anointing. God has given each one of us a gift. We must learn how to operate in that gift. How would you know the full power of God that He has placed in you if you are operating in someone else’s gift? We must work with our hands that thing which God has given to us so that we can help someone else. Steal no more.

Stop all your dirty talk. Say the right thing at the right time and help others by what you say. Ephesians 4:29

Be careful of what you say. Let no unwholesome talk come from your mouth. Our conversations must be godly, we must realize that we represent Christ and that we must have his characteristics. We should build up the body of Christ not tare it down. Remember that life and death is in the power of the tongue and we must learn how to tame it. Always remember that when we are talking that there is someone listening to your every word. Our prayer should be to not let us say things that will hinder a person but to up lift them.

Don't make God's Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins. Ephesians 4:30

We should not grieve the Holy Spirit. He is our comforter and our guide. He is the one that guides us into all truth and make known unto us what is going to happen.

God doesn't want us to be bitter and angry towards one another, cursing and yelling at each other. Instead he wants us to be kind, merciful and forgiving, just as God forgave us because of Christ.

God wants us to do as He does. After all, we are his children. We must let love be our guide. Christ loved us and offered his life for us as a sacrifice that pleases God. We are God's people, so don't let it be said that any of us are immoral or indecent or greedy. Don't use dirty, foolish or filthy words. Instead, say how thankful you are. Being greedy, indecent, or immoral is just another way of worshipping idols. You can be sure that people that behave in this way will never be part of the kingdom that belongs to Christ and God. Ephesians 5:5

God wants us to be careful of how we treat each other in what we say or do.

Stay encouraged people of God.
