Mustard Seed Faith

Matthew 17:19-20

19: Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, why could not we cast him (demonic spirit) out?

20: And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If Ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, Ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Ever wonder why Jesus used the mustard seed, very little in size for Faith and not something gigantic?

A mustard seed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof. See Matthew Chapter 13:31

We tend to think that we need gigantic faith for things to happen in our lives. God only requires us to have mustard seed Faith, that when we believe in what God can do, it grows to help not only you in this walk with God but also nourishes others as we saw with the birds.

This mustard seed Jesus likened the Kingdom of Heaven to as well in Matthew 13:31. So it is pretty significant to have mustard seed Faith.

I pray now Father that we will exercise our mustard seed Faith that will produce a harvest of righteousness in our lives so that others will be blessed as well in Jesus' name!
