BEING SET APART

set apart: separate something and keeping it for a special purpose

1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

As we began to unveil the purpose of this blog, keep in mind the meaning of Set Apart.

It is to separate something and keeping it for a special purpose. When God called us out of darkness into His marvelous light and we accepted it, there was a purpose for it. The scripture in 1 Peter tells us that He set us apart to shew forth His praises.

God set us apart for His special purpose, for we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation (people) a peculiar (special/unusual) people.

You make think well how are we royal? Our God is a king and we are made in his image which deems us to be royalty. This means that there is a certain way that we must carry ourselves in representing Him. We are set apart from the world and we must be different.

This is why the scriptures tells us in Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

God called us to be apart from the world as a holy nation (people). Why a holy people you may say? Once again we are created in is image. 1 Peter 1 :15-16 says 15. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be holy in all manner of conversation (conduct); 16. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I (God) am holy.

We are a peculiar people unto him, meaning special and unusual in every way. We are called forth to show the world who He is, to be lights in a dark world and bring honor to His name.

I am reminded of a scripture that says: Sing forth the honor of his name: make his praise glorious. Psalm 66:2

We don't have to fit in. It's ok to be different. This is why we were created to make his praise glorious.

God Bless
