Isaiah 9:6-7, Isaiah 53, John 3:16-17
As we celebrate this holiday called Easter. Let us realize the significance of this day.
There were a series of events happened before we get to Easter Sunday or Resurrection Sunday.
The holiday that we celebrate is wrapped around a man name Jesus Christ who came to earth through the virgin Mary to show us the way to live.
Man had fallen into a state of rebellion and sin and was separated from God (See Genesis Chapter 3, Genesis Chapter 6).
God sent a Savoir that should be born to save the world and to reconcile them back unto Him. For unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given: (See Isaiah 9:6-7)
But it will not be peaches and cream for him.
Luke 2:34-35
34. And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;
35. (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
The man of God warned her that her child Jesus was going to set somethings in order which will help many but disturb others. This very thing will cause his death and pierce her soul with sorrow.
God shows us this in the beginning before Jesus was sent to earth in Isaiah chapter 53.
God allowed the prophet Isaiah to see the first coming of Jesus and his death.
2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire.
7. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before the shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
These passage of scriptures reference what Jesus went through for the world. "You and Me"
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
Wow! Think about it for us He went through this. Being rejected of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Isaiah 53:3. But carrying this sorrow and grief of ours not his.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. Isaiah 53:4
Jesus endure the cross for you and me. He took on the sins of the world that we may be saved. John 3:16-17
16.For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Let's thank God for the Ultimate Sacrifice that he made by sending His only begotten Son (Jesus) to save us from ourselves, and to Jesus for his obedience to carry out such a task!
Glory to God Almighty!!
