The Farmer and the Seeds
Luke 8: 5-15 ,17-18
A sower went out to sow his seeds: and as he sowed some fell by the way side; it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. (v5)
And some fell upon a rock; and soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. (v6)
And some fell amoung thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. (v7)
And some fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. (v8)
In this passage the disciples asked Jesus what was meant by the parable, and he told them that unto them was given the understanding of the kingdom of God, but for those who did not believe he spoke to them in parables, they see but are blind ,they hear but don't understand. Then He explains the parable to them.
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. (v11)
Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. (v 12)
They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. (v13)
And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. (v 14)
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. (v15)
Not only hearers of the Word, but Doers also. We must apply the Word to our daily lives so that it nourishes our spirit. In this we can grow into maturity in understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Jesus is telling us in verses 17-18 that nothing will be hid or kept secret all things will be made manifest. Everything that is hidden will be made known. Take heed to the way you listen to things for whosever have the word and keep it shall be given eternal life but whosoever have not, what little that he has shall be taken.
We need God's word in this hour. Seek him for all that He has, his wisdom knowledge and understanding. Do His will and the rest shall be added.
Don't let your seed be trodden, shaky, or choked with thorns, but to fall on good ground producing fruit worthy of harvest.
God bless!!!!
Amen!!! Your seed must be on good ground to produce 🙌🏽
