Mandate 2 WATCH!

Mark 13:33-37

33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

36 lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Mark chapter 13 as well as Matthew chap. 24 & Luke chap. 21 gives and account of Jesus explaining to the disciples about His second return.

As they were coming out of the temple one of the disciples said Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Some of the disciples asked Him to tell them when must these things be and shall be fulfilled?

Then Jesus proceeded to tell them, Take heed lest any man deceive you (read Mark Chapter 13 for full account).

After Jesus explained what should take place before His second coming and what shall happen when He shall appear. He gave this stern warning to them while they are waiting.

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Today God wants us to focus on the WATCH part of the scripture.

Watch: To be attentive or vigilant; to give heed; to be on the lookout; to keep guard; to act as sentinel.

exercise care, caution, or restraint about.

Those that God have called out of darkness and have received the gift of eternal life must always examine ourselves. This self evaluation of the heart/soul helps us to as the meaning of watch says to be attentive to our actions and take heed to the commands of God's law.

We will keep guard of our heart/soul not to let old mindsets creep back in to separate us from God's will for our life.

Therefore exercising care, restraining ourselves(Self-control) not to get caught in entrapments of this world. Using caution of what we allow into our eye gates and ear gates that causes us to act outside of the characteristics of God.

We don't know when God will send Jesus to redeem His people unto Himself.

But we as His people are commissioned to WATCH. Plainly put, make sure we are keeping His commandments when He comes. We don't want to be ashamed at Jesus' coming. So let's prepare our heart/soul to meet Him.
